Dennis C. Murphy

Dennis Murphy was former partner and principal of Murphy Hogan Commercial Real Estate Services and later the Hogan Companies. He was also the former President of Smithy Braedon/ONCOR International. Founded in 1930, Smithy Braedon became one of the most successful full-service commercial real estate firms throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. With offices in Maryland, DC and Virginia, Mr. Murphy was responsible for the management and administration of all operating divisions. He currently serves as the President of the Anne Arundel Commercial and Industrial Association. (AACIA) 

A native Washingtonian, Mr. Murphy served in the United States Marine Corps. Following his tour of duty in Vietnam, he directed the offices of Veteran Affairs and Manpower Administration in Prince George's County. He went on to serve as Senior Industrial Development Representative for the Maryland Department of Economic and Community Development. Accordingly, he worked closely with the cabinet Secretary and Governor helping to coordinate several marketing and business development initiatives in the United States and abroad. 
Following his employment with the State of Maryland, Mr. Murphy coordinated the marketing efforts of 17 area jurisdictions, while serving as Manager of the Business Development Bureau of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. In 1987, Mr. Murphy was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation; a private, nonprofit corporation involved in all aspects of new development, business assistance, commercial and community revitalization, minority business development, financial assistance, research and marketing. 

A licensed real estate broker and professional certified economic developer, Mr. Murphy has served as past President of the Maryland Industrial Development Association, Chairman of the Area Business Development Officials Committee of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, Chairman of the United Way Campaign for Prince George's County, and on the Board of Directors of the American Economic Development Council. Currently, he serves on the Board of the Maryland Stadium Authority, the Greater Washington Board of Sun Trust Bank, the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, the Junior Executives Team (JET), Brussells Advisory Board, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, Corporate Council. In addition, Mr. Murphy was recently initiated into the Washington Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society. Dennis Murphy brokered the Gaylord Hotel deal at National Harbor for The Peterson Companies. (One of the largest real estate transactions in the State of MD.)

Susan originally hails from Texarkana, Texas. She has a 20-year-old son and resides in Piney Orchard in Odenton. She has been a member of Murphy Commercial Real Estate Services since May 2005. She has learned a great deal about commercial real estate since being employed at Murphy Commercial. Previously, Susan served in the United States Air Force for 7 ½ years with a Top Secret Security Clearance and worked at The University of Maryland as a Program Management Specialist for 5 years. Her excellent organizational skills and outgoing personality serve her well in her current position as Office Manager. Susan really enjoys working with everyone at Murphy Commercial and being a part of “The Team.”

Susan enjoys volunteering for her community, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.


 

John A. Rosso Jr.

John Rosso has been with Murphy Commercial since 2005. He specializes in Retail/Office Tenant and Landlord representation.
Prior to Murphy Commercial, John worked for the Retail Division of Under Armour Performance Apparel.
John graduated from Severna Park High School where he played sports and music. He currently attends the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business where he is a member of the national fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, and plans to graduate in Spring 09’ with Bachelors in Finance. 
John is a member of ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), AACIA (Anne Arundel Commercial and Industrial Association, and Phi Theta Kappa (Interscholastic Honorary Society).
 
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with friends and family and is the drummer of the Annapolis based band, “The Great Scott”.

Colin Penoyar has been with Murphy Commercial real estate services since 2008. He graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland with a degree in Finance. Mr. Penoyar has worked in commercial and land development since 2007. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Anne Arundel Commercial and Industrial Association.

John Pilkins retired from Bell Atlantic Meridian Systems/Verizon in 1991 as the Corporate Quality Manager after a career involving every aspect of telecommunications.  John then owned and operated the Chesapeake Bagel Bakery in Crofton, Md for 10 years giving him vast experience in small business management and ownership.  Coupled with his personal real estate
investments, development and leasing and the several years with Coldwell Banker, John comes to Murphy Commercial uniquely qualified for almost every aspect of Commercial Real Estate.

John is active in many community activities, several of which are appointments from the Governor, The Maryland Senate and the Anne Arundel County Executive.  He is a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight mid-Atlantic as well as a Community Representative for the organization.

Wes MacQuilliam has been with Murphy Commercial since May of 2008. He is a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School where he played ice hockey and lacrosse. He went on to graduate from Virginia Wesleyan College in Virginia Beach where he studied Psychology and Business and played on the lacrosse team. He currently resides in Crownsville, Maryland and enjoys traveling and playing golf.

Because Jeff has worked in senior
